Anyone seeking employment as a security guard can enroll at eduGuard to complete their mandatory courses and then follow the steps
outlined on the website to getting their guard card so they can be
working.
January 1, 2013 the State of
California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services, BSIS is beginning audits of private security
companies to ensure that they have copies of course completions for all their
officers scheduled to work. Companies that do not have these certificates for their security guards cannot work their guards without being subject to a $5,000 fine per guard. Be especially careful to make
sure current guard card holders are up to date on their training. If they
have had their card for more than 2 years, be sure to check for a certificate
of completion of their required (8) eight hours of annual training required by
BSIS. If they are missing any of their requirements they can go to eduGuard.com to complete their requirements.
